Dr. Debra Pepler is a Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology at York University and Senior Associate Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her research focuses on aggression and victimization among children and adolescents within the peer and family contexts. Her research identifies bullying as a relationship problem that transforms to other problems of power and aggression over the lifespan. Together with Dr. Wendy Craig, Dr. Pepler leads a national network, PREVNet (Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network). PREVNet’s mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships for all Canadian children and youth (www.prevnet.ca).


Stu Auty is the founding president of the Canadian Safe School Network. He is the former chair of the Ontario Safe School Task Force, has worked in education for over 30 years as a teacher, counselor and school administrator. He is the founding administrator of the VanierSchool for Young Offenders in Brampton, Ontario and has served on committees for the Ontario Premier’s Council, the Ontario Minister of Education & Training, the Federal Minister of Justice and Attorney
General of Canada.


Eric M. Roher is a partner and National Leader of the Education Focus Group with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. He practices in the areas of education law, labour relations and employment law. Mr. Roher advises school boards, independent schools, community colleges and universities on a range of education law issues, including student discipline, human rights, freedom of information and special education.


John Morrison is the Coordinator of Leadership Programs in the Office of Research and Professional Development at York’s Faculty of Education. A former principal with the Durham District School Board, John provided leadership to develop the board anti-bullying resource for educators and was the founder of the nationally recognized, student driven, Culture of Peace program. He is the past recipient of a number of awards including Canada’s Outstanding Principal Award from The Learning Partnership, The Leadership in Education award from the national Harmony Movement and the Peace Medallion from the YMCA.
